This is the fanlisting for the Journey song Open Arms. Open Arms was written by Jonathan Cain before he joined Journey. He showed the song to John Waite, lead singer of The Babys (a band Jonathan was in before Journey) and John said the song was too sappy. After joining Journey, Jonathan played Open Arms for Steve Perry and he loved it. Steve helped Jonathan finish the song up. The rest of Journey pretty much agreed with John Waite and they didn't think the song would do very well. Open Arms was recorded anyway and it was released as part of the album Escape. It is one of Journey's highest charting songs.
